Liv [leev] Norby-Sedam is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over six years of experience in mental health. She brings a warm, relaxed, and nonjudgmental approach to herwork. Liv is passionate about working with survivors of trauma of all ages, especially those who have experienced sexual abuse, interpersonal violence, or religious trauma, to assist them in navigating their own unique path of healing, recovery, and empowerment. Liv also enjoys working with individuals who struggle with challenges related to self-esteem, confidence, anxiety, and self-compassion.

Liv earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Social Work through Indiana University, graduating with high distinction while working full-time in a non-profit alongside new mothers navigating the transition into parenthood.

Prior to working at Healing Journey’s Center, Liv worked as a therapist in a non-profit outpatient program, providing individual therapy to survivors of trauma and abuse, as well as group-based intervention services for individuals who use domestic violence. She then served as their assistant director and interim director, overseeing programs delivering trauma-focused therapy, domestic violence and sexual assault services, and substance use treatment.

Liv utilizes an integrated approach in therapy, pulling strengths and techniques from across treatment modalities to individualize services with each client.

Liv is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy, Ego State Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Theraplay.

Liv is available to work with clients over the age of 5 years.
