Trauma treatment, redefined.

Brainspotting

Neurological therapies are more widely being used and adapted to process stored emotional energy. Emotions, as a whole, are simply energy for the body to use. This energy allows us to run from an animal or fight an assailant. If we freeze (or are unable to run or fight), this energy gets stored as trauma in the body. Brainspotting is a type of therapy that accesses unprocessed trauma through fixed eye positions, as the eyes and brain are intricately connected. Brainspotting allows the brain to identify, process and release these emotions, while getting through psychological defense mechanisms that may otherwise delay the brain’s natural self-healing capabilities.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a type of brain-based therapy that facilities the reprocessing or traumatic experiences and other adverse memories. This type of therapy uses various forms of bilateral stimulation of the brain to assist in processing these memories to resolution. When emotions are processed to resolution, the brain is able to integrate memories, eliminate emotional distress and forge adaptive links to pasts and current life dilemmas.
